very wonderful site!! everything looks beautiful and there's a lot of interesting stuff here... i have been inspired to look into getting a kindle and jailbreaking it! if you're still looking for some non-evil tech recommendations i simply Must recommend the ds even though i am Positive you have heard this before. i have a 3ds and, like everyone says, they are extremely easy to jailbreak. i don't know if you're much of a "gamer" per se but i'm a puzzle kind of guy and it's spectacular for that. even just before going to bed it's great to easily be able to chill out with some picross for a bit without having the problems that a phone app of the same thing would typically give me (ads, micro-transactions, social media distractions.. whatever else). professor layton games are also awesome for that since there are easily accessible/replayable puzzles outside of the main story (which is also very fun). sorry for the essay- i hope you have been doing well! it was an absolute delight to see my comic linked in your cool sites area (guy who Totally didn't get choked up about it) :]

If it's tech then things like cds,cassettes,records If you want something outside of just mp3. Going back to dvds or VHS. Mini projectors are a thing. Not sure what the stance on games is for your break. I personally have old and new consoles myself, I still have my ds and original xbox. Also, they make little blue tooth plug in devices modeled after the phones we used to have in the 90s, I recently got one for Xmas. Maybe have that for your calls?

you definitely could try getting into some good books, maybe find things that have you work with your hands such as gardening, baking/cooking,learning new skills and what not to keep yourself occupied. learning stuff is not only useful but very enjoyable. in my home we personally garden and use some of what we grow to cook, experimenting with food sometimes and we've made our own bread,butter and pickles. i also, sometimes actually sew and paint personally. painting outside is really nice especially when the weather is right. also, just enjoy experiences in the moment. that's all i can really say ~goodluck
